Newborn Photo Frequently Asked Questions
Most of my expecting moms inquire when they are pregnant. After booking is confirmed I will put your due date on my calendar. After baby and you are safely home, please reach out to me. At that time we will pick a date that works the best for your family.
Newborn in-home lifestyle sessions usually happen when baby’s 5-30 days old. But I have done sessions where the babies are 4 months (you know, because of the pandemic they got pushed back). My session is very relaxed and I do minimal posing. I believe babies are beautiful just the way they naturally are. I follow the baby’s need and I do not need babies to be sleeping. There will be lots of snuggles and kisses! I want you to soak in this special sweet time because it’s going to fly by and you will miss it.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
When you send an inquiry, we will chat about my style, your family, and overall make sure we are a good fit. At this same time, we will chat about location. I travel all over Seattle but knowing your general area helps with planning.
If you decide to book, awesome! I can’t wait to create magic with you. We will discuss dates and choose one together that works best for us. I will send over a session form/agreement and an invoice for retainer, once those are filled out and paid, you are officially on my calendar!
How do I book a Seattle Area Newborn session?
Trust me, most of my clients’ homes don’t! I have done shoots in just one room in a tiny Seattle apartment. It’s not about how big or how “Instagram-like” your house is. I'm there to capture your family’s connection with your newest addition and all the new baby details.
A little decluttering and one window that lets in good light is often all that is needed. We want the focus to be on your family and clutter can sometimes be a distraction.
What if my house does not look like a show home?
I know you are excited to see your photos! My turnaround is 2 weeks but I try my best to deliver your gallery sooner than that.
